Well, after the most incredible year of adventure, good times, and happiness...we were due some misery. And misery came barging right in. Desi had been sick over G's birthday and got well. The Royalls arrived on the late on 20th which was the kids last day of school and we were so excited! But after just one day of fun, we GOT SICK. All three kids were up ALL night throwing up and taking turns on the toilet and Brad and I were up with them. It was rough. We did get snow on that one good day we had together and Des built a tiny snowman and Jude and Breckin got to see snow and we tried our best to be good hosts and enjoy our time with family but this is how we ALL felt...
The worst part was it just kept going and going...On Christmas Eve the Royalls headed to Tulsa and we were still unable to even get the kids out of bed. They couldn't eat and they just needed to sleep all day. When I tried to get them up to open their Christmas Eve ornament, Benny and G crawled out of bed but Desi didn't even have to strength to do it. I cried and cried. Christmas is so big for kids and we work so hard to make it special and my babies were just suffering. Brad was right though when he said this is the Christmas they will never forget!
Christmas morning we woke up feeling like celebrating because we made it the WHOLE night with no one barfing! Hurray!
Not the best day for googly eyed glasses :/ He immediately started to feel nauseous again!
Then wouldn't you know, it was Brad and Gaga's turns next! The kids were puny but better, but Brad and Gaga were down for the count for the next few days. Such a bummer! Papa and I somehow made it through the epic holiday unscathed...which just meant we got to take care of everybody else! Ha!
We spent the next week recovering, organizing and cleaning, but most importantly reminiscing about such an incredible year of our lives! Thank you 2017!
